Obituary of Ruth Louise Donohoo

Mrs. Ruth Louise High Donohoo, 95, of Ozark, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, April 15, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Pastor James Endrihs and Pastor Chad Ingle officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 A. M. Monday, April 18, 2016, in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mrs. Donohoo was born June 22, 1920 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Frank High and Artelia Louise Philpott High Masters. She moved to Ozark in 1956 with her family while her late husband was employed with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a flight instructor. She was active in various civic and social organizations in the community. Mrs. Donohoo was instrumental in organizing the establishment of The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ozark where she held various offices. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilson Donohoo in 1990; her infant daughter, Kathlene Ann Donohoo in 1945, and her daughter, Patricia Donohoo Doran in 1999.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Pamela Donohoo of Athens, Alabama, Donald and Theresa Donohoo of Ramer, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jon Snell of Newnan, Georgia, Shawn M. Donohoo of Montgomery, Alabama, Jaime Donohoo of Newton, Alabama, Thomas Donohoo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Amanda Donohoo of Ramer, Alabama, Bryon Donohoo of Kent, Washington, and Kyle Donohoo Kirkland, Washington; ten great grandchildren, Jacie Donohoo, Clay Horne, Kayla Horne, Riley Snell, Avery Snell, Jackson Snell, Robert Donohoo, Desi Donohoo, Layla Thomas, and Jayzmine Lambert; one great-great grandchild, Cayden Asberry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2454 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
