Obituary of Vicki L. Corcoran

Miss Vicki L. Corcoran, age 47, of Ozark, died Friday, January 27, 2006, at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Monday, January 30, 2006 from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Aman and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Miss Corcoran's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Vicki was born September 30, 1958 in Ozark the youngest daughter of Ida Clark Corcoran Jay and the late Prather Eugene Corcoran. She attended school in Ozark and graduated from Carroll High School in 1976. Vicki was dedicated to serving others. She began her career at Ft. Rucker National Bank where she was employed for sixteen years. For the past eleven years she continued to serve her community at Peoples South Bank in Ozark. It was Vicki's greatest desire to give her customers competent and friendly service. A lifelong resident of Ozark, Vicki was very involved in her community and in the lives of her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Ozark Baptist Church. Vicki served on the Flowers Center for the Performing Arts Board, and the Dale County Junior Miss Board where she served as treasurer for many years. In the last two years she has developed many special relationships and brought joy to the staff and residents at Providence Assisted Living and Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Vicki was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. Her father, Prather Eugene Corcoran, preceded Vicki in death. Survivors include her Mother, Ida Clark Corcoran Jay, Ozark, two sisters, Connie Johnston and her husband, George, Ozark, and Tina Caples and her husband, Carrol, Birmingham, three nieces, Jana Robinette and her husband, Jason, Enterprise, Kelly Johnston, Ozark, and Adrienne Watkins and her husband, Josh, Springville, Alabama. one great niece, Macy Robinette, and two uncles and aunts, William and Jean Corcoran, Columbus, Georgia, and Ann and Bill Gehrig, Clarrington, Ohio. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, the American Diabetics Association, P. O. Box 1012, Wetumpka, Alabama 36092, or Ozark Baptist Church Music Ministry, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
